From MassLive.com:
“Police Chief John R. Ferraro Jr. said yesterday he is concerned about the escalating number of dog bites in the city – largely involving pit bulls – and may pursue an ordinance change with the Board of Aldermen.
…’There’s definitely a problem with pit bulls. If people say it’s not the dog, it’s the training, then I don’t fully believe that,’ the chief said.
Sanders said overall there are more pit bulls involved in dog bites in the city.”
Please contact the Chicopee Mayor and Board of Aldermen and tell them breed-specific legislation is unenforceable, ineffective, and unfair to responsible dog owners. Please encourage them instead to simply consider adding more Animal Control enforcement.
