As the AKC reported on September 26, 2013, S. 969 is no longer in consideration for this session. As I’ve been writing, S. 969, which would’ve allowed municipalities within Massachusetts to pass breed-specific laws (BSL), appears to have been at the impetus of Boston’s Mayor Thomas Menino, whose name even appeared on the bill sponsored by State Senator Michael Rush. So while S. 969 has died for this session, I wonder if they’ll just try to bring it back again next session.
